Brazilian Jiu-jitsu has proven that a smaller, weaker person can defend themselves effectively and efficiently against a bigger and stronger attacker. Discovered and perfected by the Gracie family on the mean streets of Rio De Janeiro. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was and is the 1st style of Martial Arts that has always tested itself and applied its techniques in the toughest and most dangerous of situations. BJJ can claim that technique and patience can defeat size and power. Proven in the original UFC by Royce Gracie when he would consistently defeat fighters 70lbs heavier.

What is situational awareness? Let me give you some examples of what it isn’t, ever see that person walking down the street in the middle of the night on their cell phone not paying attention to their surroundings? That is a lack of situational awareness. Our BJJ classes will teach you and help you develop the ability to be vigilant but not scared. We will teach you how to address and assess situations before they become dangerous, giving the ability to avoid a potentially dangerous attacker.
Punch Protection is exactly what it sounds like, the ability to deal with an attacker trying to strike you and you having the ability to protect and defend those strikes effectively and efficiently.
95% of all Street fights and Self Defense situations wind up ion the ground according to FBI crime statistics. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the only system that effectively addresses these situations. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is designed to allow a smaller weaker opponent be able to defend themselves against a bigger, faster and stronger attacker.
